What I Understood When I Stopped Fighting Myself
What I Was Looking For
My coaching approach grew out of a deep personal journey exploring my fear of rejection—particularly as it related to my identity as a gay man—and the sensitivity that stemmed from it. For a long time, I didn’t even realize I was looking for something else. I simply felt that something wasn’t right, without being able to put it into specific words.
Very early on, I learned to adapt. To observe others. To understand their expectations. I looked for guidance externally: among recognized leaders, those who seemed strong and self-assured. Deep down, I was looking to feel secure.
Over time, this search highlighted habits, even compulsive behaviors, in my daily life. At the time, I thought they were problems to be corrected. Later, I understood that they were mostly sometimes clumsy, but intelligent, attempts to protect myself and cope.
What I Discovered
The real change began when I stopped trying to fix myselfand started listening to myself in a different way—not just by thinking, but by paying attention to what I was actually feeling in my body, in my emotions, and in my everyday reactions.
“Lasting transformation doesn't come from control, but from lived acceptance. When we stop fighting against ourselves, something relaxes. And the energy previously used to resist becomes available for living.”
What I offer today
This is the path I suggest we take together. A path not aimed at becoming someone else, but at creating more inner calm, greater clarity, and the ability to act from a place of choice rather than from fear-driven reactions.
With the right support, experience shows that when we stop resisting and embrace what is already present, the process often becomes simpler, more joyful, and more enriching than we might imagine.
Embarking on this journey together means creating a space where:
You can accept yourself without judgment—neither from the outside nor from within
You finally have permission to be who you are without guilt or shame
You can achieve inner alignment by integrating your various feelings and experiences
You allow your inner wisdom to find new ways to meet your needs
"When I started coaching with Gérald, I was going through a period of deep questioning about my place in a leadership environment.
